Jordan - Building capacity to access international financing

UNEP DTU Partnership conducted a 5 day workshop in Amman, Jordan to strengthen capacity to access international financing for the country's climate technology priorities. Jordan's Ministry of Environment sought technical assistance from UNEP's Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), and UNEP DTU partnered to provide this assistance.
The focus of the workshop was to help remove barriers to climate technology deployment and scale up by articulating climate technology priorities as project-ready concepts for possible support by different international financing opportunities, and used the Green Climate Fund template as an example.

DTU will support the development of a STREAM Model for Ukraine, and provide input in scoping and potentially initiating supporting activities in relation to the Ukrainian TIMES model.
The STREAM model for Ukraine shall contribute toward an assessment and revision of the methodologies, assumptions and data behind the current draft Energy Strategy for Ukraine from 2017 to 2035. Moreover, STREAM shall be used as a dialogue tool for future energy systems scenarios. |

The objective of the assignment is to support the capacity building in the DHAT and modelling approaches to district heating planning. The project will participate in establishing a core group of users of the DHAT and modelling approaches in NECC and selected regions. A self-contained two-day training program in the DHAT and modelling approaches is to be developed and conducted. The program will be designed to be replicable, and be especially relevant to Chinese stakeholders in national and regional governments. |
