Renewable Energy Integration

Henrik Bindner has been focusing his research in the area of renewable energy integration. In recent years this has mainly involved flexible consumption, active distribution grids, dynamic and supervisory control of large portfolios of flexible consumption units and the associated ICT infrastructure. He has been one of the main drivers in the development of the research facility SYSLAB that is particularly designed to support research in distributed/decentralized control and ICT infrastructures. Henrik has during his research been a main contributor to the design and development of a simulation tool designed to be capable of simulation of the supervisory control impact on a multi-energy system.

Per Nørgaard  has been focusing on Technical integration of renewable energy in to the power system at system level, including appropriate system architecture, local and global power balances and energy management, with focus on integration of wind power, integration on micro-grid level, utilization of distributed energy resources and utilization of intelligent solutions (smart grid), including distributed intelligence and control.

Rasmus Bjørk is Head of Section at DTU Energy and holds a Ph.D. degree in physics. He has worked with a number of next generation energy conversion and storage technologies both on the more fundamental research level as well as on developing commercially viable technology with industrial partners. The Section for Continuum Modelling and Testing which Rasmus is leading has as one of its research topics the modeling of energy system with future energy conversion and storage technologies. This research draws on the significant scientific and technical experience in a broad range of energy conversion and storage technologies throughout DTU Energy.
